The G factor is the main painting I realized in 2006. I made the first draft in November 2005: it took almost a year of sketches and work to finish it. I did some 100 sketches, more or less, before starting the definitive version; the oil colouring lasted about 3 months (July - October 2006). I had the idea to collect my favourite villains: from left to right Ganelon (from the Chanson de Roland), Richard III, Severus Snape, Steerpike (from Mervin Peake's Gormenghast trilogy), Iago and Jibras have brought together to plot something. The title - G factor - comes from a line of Shakespeare's Richard III about the prophecy of G that surrounds Clarence:

This day should Clarence closely be mewed up
About a prophecy which says that G
Of Edward's heirs the murderer shall be.  (RIII, I, i, 38-40).

Il Fattore G è stata la più grande faticaccia del 2006, finora. Il primo schizzo risale al novembre del 2005: dopo circa un centinaio di schizzi ho iniziato la stesura ad olio a luglio e l'ho terminata ad ottobre. I miei cattivi preferiti sono qui riuniti in una taverna per complottare: da sinistra a destra Gano (dalla Chanson de Roland, Riccardo III, Snape, Ferraguzzo (da Gormenghast di Mervin Peake), Iago e Jibras. Il titolo deriva dalla cosiddetta "profezia del G" dal Riccardo III di Shakespeare:

"Questo stesso giorno Clarence verrà rinchiuso in gattabuia / per una profezia che dice che G / sarà l'assassino degli eredi di Edoardo" (RIII I, i, 38-40).
